My own little excitment....

About 6 - 9 months ago, our USDA Inspector came to me and asked if I had heard about the photographer looking for women that ride Harleys. Of course I didn't. He told me how he was listening to the radio on the way to our store. Turns out the Rose, of Quinn and Rose in the Morning (Pittsburgh radio show) her father is a photographer and was looking for Women Riders to photograph. He is putting together a photo book. He photographs and writes a bio of the woman.

I looked him up and emailed him. Hank Somma was looking for 100 women across the country. He did an exhibition on the same subject - it did well, so he decided to do a book. He sent me an interview. I filled it out and he sent me my shoot date.

I have to admit - it was pretty cool. My turn was June 7th. I was to pick the place that best represented me. I picked the Kittanning Park. He shot it so you could see the Kittanning bridge and the Allegheny River behind me.

I had to chuckle - he seemed a little amazed by my Fat Boy. He took a lot of the chrome and one shot with my break light (a skull head - the red light shines through the eyes and mouth...lol). I guess I just didn't seem the "type" for it...lol. I did have fun though.

He's only half way through shooting. He said he takes about 300 pictures per woman. He has to edit and write their story. Then it goes to the printer and it'll be there about 9-10 months. I am hoping he gives us a sneak preview.

SURPRISE !!!!

I got a call Friday afternoon from Joe (Ash's Boy Friend) to ask me to help him surprise her.

She talked to him Friday morning on her way to work and he told her he was at the beach. Well, he was on his way home. Turns out the Marines didn't need him this weekend !

He asked me to keep her at the store. BOY, WAS THAT A JOB AND A HALF !!!! She wanted out of work in the WORST way. The only thing I could think of was telling her that he sent her a surprise and it was being over nighted. I told her that she was the only one that could sign for it so she had to be here. Joe even told her at the end that he knew the driver and he gave her updates the whole way. I couldn't believe she wasn't catching on - but she didn't.

He called her and told her the UPS driver was out side. She was still talking with him on the phone and she opened the door and left out the a scream....he was outside standing.

Breaking news....

I have good news ! Ashley's boy friend Joe called last night. He's doing well, though bored. He had Good News / Bad News. The bad news was that he was sent to training a month early. He really isn't doing anything right now. That's due to the fact his Platoon just came home from Iraq and they are on leave ....which brings me to the good news. He won't be deployed in November. It probably won't be until next Fall...Fall of 2009. So, to say the VERY least....my daughter was VERY happy last night.

Pa Grand Canyon Bike Trip

Memorial Day weekend Kevin and I rode the bikes to Wellsboro, Pa to see the Pa. Grand Canyon. Boy, was it pretty.

I am thankful my husband talked me into getting the electric coat. When we started out it was warm and by the time we were in Wellsboro - it was in the 40's....brrr.

On a break....

I am trying out the blogging. New to it - but so far it's been fun putting it together.

Life updates:

Ashley's boyfriend Joe has left for some US Marine training. Right now, it's looking like he will Deploy in November. We're hoping he'll be able to make it home before he leaves for Iraq.

Oh and shhhhh, don't tell them but....I like this one...lol
